Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of becited.co and the BeCited GEO/SEO visibility measurement service (the "Service"), operated by Astro Tasarım Simay Yenice ("BeCited," "we," "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization, and "you" refers to both you and that organization.

1. The Service

BeCited measures how visible a website is (a) in AI-generated answers from large language model assistants ("GEO," Generative Engine Optimization) and (b) in classic search-engine results ("SEO"). We do this by:

• Crawling publicly available pages of the domain you submit
• Running generic, brand-relevant search queries against third-party AI-answer and search-result data sources
• Computing scores and generating a report based on the results
• On paid plans, re-running this measurement on a monthly cadence so you can track change over time

The Service analyzes and reports on data that is already public or that you provide to us; it does not modify your website, submit content on your behalf, or interact with search engines or AI assistants as you.

2. What We Do Not Guarantee

BeCited is a measurement and reporting tool, not a ranking or placement service. We explicitly do not guarantee:

• Any specific ranking position in Google, Bing, or any other search engine
• Any specific mention, citation, or ranking within ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini, or any other AI assistant
• That scores will improve over time, or that any recommendation we surface will produce a particular outcome
• The continued availability, accuracy, or unchanged behavior of any third-party AI or search platform we measure against

All scores and reports reflect a point-in-time snapshot of publicly observable behavior of third-party systems we do not control. Those systems change frequently and without notice; a measurement taken today may not match a measurement taken tomorrow, even without any change to your website.

3. Accounts and Acceptable Use

You must provide accurate information when creating an account and are responsible for activity under your account and credentials. You agree to use the Service only to measure domains you own, operate, or are otherwise authorized to assess (for example, as an agency acting for a client). You will not:

• Submit domains you have no legitimate right to analyze for the purpose of harassment, competitive scraping at scale, or circumventing the Service's intended use
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or systematically extract the Service beyond your account's normal usage
• Use the Service to violate any law, or the terms of service of any third party (including the AI platforms and search engines we measure against)
• Interfere with the Service's operation, security, or availability

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section.

4. Fees, Billing, and Cancellation

• Paid plans are billed on a recurring basis (monthly or annual, as selected) through Creem, our payment processor and Merchant of Record. Creem, not BeCited, is the seller of record for tax and payment-processing purposes; your payment card details are collected and stored by Creem, and BeCited never sees or retains full card numbers.
• You can cancel a subscription at any time from your account billing settings or the Creem-hosted customer portal; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you retain access until then.
• Refunds: because the Service delivers a report and measurement value immediately upon use, fees are generally non-refundable once a billing period has started, except where required by applicable consumer-protection law or at our discretion for demonstrated service failure. We do, however, voluntarily refund the first billing period unconditionally within 14 days; see our Cancellation and Refund Policy and, for Turkish buyers, our Distance Selling Agreement. Refund requests go through Creem's support channel or hello@becited.co.
• We may change our prices with advance notice; continued use after a price change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the new price for future billing periods.

5. Intellectual Property

• Our IP: the Service, including its software, scoring methodology, design, and branding, is owned by Astro Tasarım Simay Yenice and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for your own or your authorized clients' domains, for as long as your subscription is active.
• Your content: you retain ownership of any domain data and materials you submit. You grant us a limited license to process that data solely to operate the Service for you, as described in our Privacy Policy.
• Report ownership: reports generated for your account are yours to use for your own business purposes (including sharing with clients, if you are an agency), but you may not resell or repackage the underlying Service itself without our written permission.

6. Third-Party Platforms

The Service measures your visibility against third-party platforms (including but not limited to Google Search, Perplexity, and other AI assistants) that we do not own, operate, or control. Their algorithms, availability, and output are entirely outside our control and can change at any time. We are not responsible for changes made by those platforms, and nothing in these Terms should be read as a partnership, affiliation, or endorsement between BeCited and those third parties.

7. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT, TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT MEASUREMENT RESULTS WILL BE ACCURATE AT ANY FUTURE POINT IN TIME, GIVEN THE THIRD-PARTY SYSTEMS INVOLVED.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ASTRO TASARIM SIMAY YENICE AND ITS OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND SUBPROCESSORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM. NOTHING IN THESE TERMS LIMITS LIABILITY THAT CANNOT BE LIMITED UNDER APPLICABLE MANDATORY LAW, INCLUDING TURKISH CONSUMER PROTECTION LAW WHERE APPLICABLE.

9. Termination

You may stop using the Service and close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Service, in which case we will provide reasonable notice where practicable. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends immediately; provisions that by their nature should survive (including Sections 5, 7, 8, and 10) will survive.

10. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Turkey, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts and enforcement offices of Astro Tasarım Simay Yenice's registered location in Turkey, unless mandatory consumer-protection rules in your jurisdiction require otherwise.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date, and, where required, communicated by email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

12. Data Protection Role

Where BeCited processes personal data on your instructions to operate your account and generate reports, as described in our Privacy Policy, BeCited acts as a data processor under GDPR Article 28 and as veri işleyen under KVKK, and you (or the organization you represent) act as the data controller, or veri sorumlusu, for that data. For website, marketing, and billing data described in the Privacy Policy, BeCited itself acts as the data controller. A Data Processing Agreement describing our obligations as a processor, including subprocessor use and notification, security measures, breach notification timing, and data return or deletion at the end of the contract, is available at /dpa.
